What is it about genealogy that makes everyone so upset? It is the fact that they know they cannot change what happened in the past, and they are afraid. NEWSFLASH - NO ONE IS PERFECT! Our children lie to us because they think that they will get in trouble for what they have done in the past. Whether it's been five minutes or five years, they will lie to keep us from judging them, and they get this concept from us. We do the same thing! We lie about our pasts and our family histories to keep others from judging us. Instead, we should be honest with ourselves and others. We could all learn from our family's mistakes! The Bible talks about how our sins are visited on our descendants for three generations. Wouldn't you rather they be prepared for the temptation, or would you rather them be unprepared and fall into that same sin creating a chain that is increasingly harder to break.

About Me

My name is Victoria Lauren Phares-Hutchison, and I'm an amateur detective of sorts. I search for the truth behind the bedtime stories I was always told. When I was little, I preferred listening to my dad's embellished tales about his family. The problem was that I didn't want to hear the embellishments; I wanted to hear the truth. As time has gone on, I have begun searching for that truth, and I have found more than I imagined. Every family has its secrets, and unfortunately, it's been hard for some of my family to accept what I have found. The skeletons hiding in the closet have come to light, and not everyone wants them to.
